I Have No Labia Minora-Am I Normal?
Well I’m 22 years old and I first took a look at my vagina when I was 13 and thought it looked different then what was in the sexual education textbooks, but I could never put my finger on it.
Tonight while reading a book for my Human Sexuality course I discovered why mine’s is so different: I have NO labia minora, at all!
I need to know if this is normal because I’m freaking out. I don’t have problems having sex, but I do get frequent yeast and bacterial vaginosis infections. I was also diagnosed with PCOS last year.
Are there any girls out there who are labia minora-less like me? I’ve had several pap smears and no doctors said anything to me.
It is completely normal and there are many girls like you. I once saw this question asked on a health board, and tons of women came forward to say they had no inner labia. They had all spent years worrying that they were abnormal and were happy to find they were not alone!
Labia can vary a lot in size, from large and prominent to non existent.
BV and yeast are to do with your vaginal environment, wearing tight clothing and diet (sugars etc) not labia size. I have very large labia and also get frequent yeast infections.
Most men are happy with whatever a woman has. Of the rest, some prefer very small labia and others like large, it is personal preference. Many men like the no-labia look, because it is neat and like fashionable porn ‘designer vaginas’. Some women choose to have their inner labia completely removed for aesthetic reasons. Others like large labia. It is all normal.
