Vaginal Discharge and Odor – Is it Normal?

Most women consider vaginal discharge and odor as a problem. But the fact remains that the discharge is the actual process that gets your vaginal cells clean by getting rid of the old cells. The smell is characteristic of every woman and most cases it does get your partner exited. But the catch to the problem is when you find an unusual kind of vaginal discharge and odor which is either of a different color and foul smell. You need to be extremely careful in this case.

Get Rid of vaginal odor in Just 3 Days

If you find that you have a vaginal discharge and odor that is yellow or gray in color and has a pungent fishy smell respectively, it is possible that you are suffering from bacterial vaginosis. You need to get rid of this problem because if left untreated the situation can get bad and the infection can start going into the reproductive tract.

If you are pregnant and you have this kind of vaginal discharge and odor, make sure you intimate your doctor immediately, because this can cause trouble during your delivery like premature delivery or can get your fluid infected.

There are several things that you need to keep in mind to get rid of this infectious vaginal discharge and odor. The first and most important part is that you need to keep your genital areas very clean. Even after a bowel emptying session make sure you wipe from front to back so that you do not unknowingly settle some E. coli bacteria onto your vagina from the rectum.

Avoid the stress that you are going through. Sometimes, this is the main reason that can be contributed to the development of this vaginal discharge and odor. When you are having sex with your partner make use of condoms as this will avoid the STD’s that can be spread very easily in this vulnerable condition. If you are a diabetic patient make sure you control this very well because once it goes out of hand you will be completely helpless.

Weird Vaginal Discharge?

I am noticing a discharge that is unusual. It is clear or white in color, but it has the consistency of (for lack of a better word) snot. It has a pretty strong odor to it, however I am not experiencing any pain, or itching. I have no idea what this is, but I would like to clear it up very soon. I am thinking of getting an over-the-counter yeast infection medication because I can’t get in to see my doctor for another month. Do you have any ideas as to what this may be, or if the yeast infection medication will help?

Helpful answers only please!

Glands inside your vagina and cervix make small amounts of fluid. This fluid flows out of the vagina each day, carrying out old cells that have lined the vagina. This is your body’s way of keeping your vagina healthy and clean. The discharge is usually clear or milky and doesn’t smell bad.

The color and thickness of the discharge change with your monthly cycle. The discharge is thicker when you ovulate (when one of your ovaries releases an egg), when a woman is breastfeeding or when a woman is sexually excited.

Changes that may signal a problem include an increase in the amount of discharge, a change in the color or smell of the discharge, and irritation, itchiness or burning in or around your vagina. This is called vaginitis. A discharge that’s stained with blood when you’re not having your period could also be a sign of a problem. Some other types of infections such as yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis can also cause discharge that is usually accompanied by odor such as beer/yeast/fish.

I would recommend that if you have any of these signs or any concerns regarding this you consult with your doctor for a proper diagnosis and for proper treatment should you have anything other than just a normal vaginal discharge.

Good luck :)
